Category to provide quick information on battles famous in the history of the British Isles, including those that were significant, if far away. (Many of these are likely to involve the British Empire.) The Royal Navy has had a long tradition of naming ships after British victories, to foster an aggressive spirit. There was finally an entire class of destroyers, the Battle class named after such morale-boosting encounters, including HMS Armada, HMS Trafalgar, HMS Camperdown, HMS Saintes, HMS Gravelines, HMS Sluys, and HMS Cadiz.
