The noun a communicant, in the Christian churches, is one who is taking (or about to take) communion, or Eucharist, in the course of the current service.

As an adjective, it describes either one such person on the current occasion, or , more generally, a person who is a member of a particular Church and entitled to take part in communion (Eucharist) ('to communicate') with the other members, on appropriate occasions.
