Complements can be of many types. We can use nominals, as in &quot;He is a teacher&quot; (where the complement is a Noun Phrase); adjectivals, &quot;Their house is white&quot; (where the complement is a single word); and adverbials, &quot;It is where you left it&quot; (where the complement is an adverbial Clause).
