BVC is an acronym used in the world of the Law. It stands for Bar Vocational Course. This is a course for students who have graduated from a university. It is essentially about the practical or 'real life' skills needed to practise as a barrister.

Candidates for the Bar Vocational Course are required to have a 2:ii degree in Law, or a 2:ii degree in any subject + a CPE. "The CPE is also known as the Graduate Diploma in Law, [sic] this is a Postgraduate Course which Non-Law Graduates may undertake in order to be eligible to apply for the Vocational Stage of Training on the same basis as a student with a Qualifying Law Degree." (From the Bar Standards Board website.) <http://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/qualifyingforthebar/whatistheacademicstage/howtoapplyfortheacdemicstage/>, accessed 20/11/2007).) In addition, all candidates must have a pupillage with a recognised barrister.
