It may help those of you who are not native speakers to be reminded that the constructions used with this verb are not simple.
Basically, we provide something [Object Direct] for (or to) someone.[Object Indirect]. We can vary this by saying we provide someone [Object Indirect] with something [prepositional Complement].
Do not confuse these two usages.
