Apostrophe - punctuation

There are two uses of the apostrophe punctuation mark:
- the omission of letters in contracted words; see apostrophe (omission)
- possession, as in "John's book"; see apostrophe (possession)
- For apostrophe as a technical term in rhetoric and similar studies, see apostrophe (rhetoric).
