Acknowledgement

All meanings of the word represented by the letters acknowledgement can be represented by acknowledgment. OED gives this word in the form acknowledgment, starting the entry with "Also acknowledgement (a spelling more in accordance with Eng. values of letters)". This note seems to us enough justification for preferring the spelling with an extra '-e-' - acknowledgement.
