This is a bibliography page, concerning a work to which reference is made elsewhere in this guide.
- The Oxford Classical Dictionary (often abbreviated as OCD) is an esteemed reference book, published by the OUP. It has appeared in several versions.
- The first edition (1949) was edited by Cary, M. Unless otherwise stated, this is the edition used in AWE.
- The 2nd edition (1970) was edited by N.G.L. Hammond and H.H. Scullard, and bore the Imprint Clarendon Press.
- The 3rd edition (1996) was edited by Simon Hornblower and Antony Spawforth.
A CD-ROM has been issued, and there is a smaller Oxford Companion to Classical Civilization by the editors of the OCD.
