Tout court is a French adverbial phrase with some currency in academic English. Literally it means 'all short'; it is pronounced in English as it is in French, 'too coor', IPA: /tuː kuːr/. When used in English, it follows a word (usually a noun) to mean 'just that', 'simply', 'without any further qualification or detail', for example "When he says 'the Regiment' tout court, he means the one in which he served, The 33rd or Duke of Wellington's Regiment."
