Legalisation and legislation are close in etymology as well as in meaning. (They both derive from the Latin word for 'law', and the suffix '-ation', denoting 'abstract noun of process'. However, they must not be confused. As spellcheckers can be very wooden-headed about them, it is up to the writer her- or him-self to keep a watchful eye on the correct spelling.
