Seraph - serif
From Hull AWE
Seraph and serif are homophones, 'SERR-if', IPA: /ˈsɛr ɪf/, except in the most careful pronunciations. Neither is a common word, but it is as well to distinguish between them.
- A seraph is an angel, in the Tanakh, or Jewish Bible; and the Christian Bible.
- A serif is a small mark in the formation of letters, in handwriting or in printing.
- (Don't confuse either of these with sheriff.)
