Hazen, Allen T. and Middendorf, John H. (gen eds) (1958- ) The Yale Edition of the Works of Samuel Johnson, 18 vols, New Haven, Yale University Press.

This is the most authoritative edition. It is up-to-date (vol 18 appeared in 2005), and comes from the current centre of Johnson research and studies.
