The name of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford is pronounced with the stress on the second syllable, which has a long ‘-o-’ sound like that in ‘go’ – ‘ash-MOLy-an’, SAMPA: /{S"m@UlI@n/.
The Ashmolean Museum is one of the oldest learned collections in the world. It forms part of Oxford University.
