This category - which may be better named in future - is intended to group items where such aspects of popular culture as advertising (spellings such as 'tonite'), text language abbreviations, common misquotations and false references of a sort may reduce the clarity and correctness of formal academic English.
- Warning to editors and writers: I don't intend this to contain the really trivial and obvious, like 'CU l8r', as I don't think HE students are likely to sink that low... at least in their formal writing. PeterWilson
