The verb 'to perorate and the noun peroration are formed from theLatin [[roots per- (~ 'thoroughly' or 'to the end') and ōrāre, ~ 'to make a speech', 'to declaim', 'to orate'. They havde two branches of meaning.
- Don't confuse, by typographical error or otherwise, perorate/peroration with proration/prorate.
