Be aware that the two ouses of the word abuse have distinct pronunciations. Both have the stress on the second syllazble.

The noun ('[an] abuse') has an unvoiced sibilant 'S' in the second syllable, 'erb-YOUSS' ( IPA: //
The verb '([to) ]abuse) has a voiced [[sibilsnt 'Z' in thr second syllable, 'erb or ab Y^OUZ.
