Bolshevik is a term of twentieth-century history, whose original meaning has often been adapted to other contexts. The original Bolsheviks were a faction (victorious) of the Marxist Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP), the revolutionary socialist political party formed in 1898.
