HoR is an acronym for History of Religion, chosen for the greater ease of the editors and writers of AWE. In due course it should contain enough material to guide a student through the broad outlines of the subject - though it is, as this is written, sketchy and bitty in the extreme. There are many sources that will help the student out in much more detail and accuracy - although some of them will dispute furiously with others, and all of them will find something in AWE with which they disagree.
